Well, things are on hold for me. Two weeks ago my IM called me to talk about contract stuff, to work out the final details (things were going smoothly there). Before we got started she wanted to let me know that their former surro, who had been turned down by their clinic for some abnormal test results, had gotten independent tests done to back up the clinics tests, but got a much different result. The poor dear was being told horrible things by the clinic, but tests with her doctor indicated everything was normal! She was even told she had a terminal illness, but then they emailed her later that week and said, Oops, our mistake, you had a false positive! Holy moly!!!!
So,we are waiting to see if the clinic will clear her and if they can proceed on together. I would be sad to be delayed in my journey, but I am not at all upset that it would be because their other surro was ok after all and ok to move on as planned. I am completely fine with it. IM and I have hit it off and like eachother very much, but they really liked their first surro, too, so I'm sure this was a difficult and strange situation they found themselves in and I completely agree with how they are handling it. I appreciate IM's honesty most of all.
Surrogacy can be a strange and wonderful thing, putting us human beings in strange and wonderful situations...sometimes compromise and understanding is a must!
